# Ichimoku Cloud

**The Ichimoku Cloud**, or *Ichimoku Kinko Hyo*, is a comprehensive technical indicator that provides insights into trend direction, momentum, and support/resistance levels—all in one chart.

It consists of five key lines:

* **Tenkan-sen (Conversion Line)** and **Kijun-sen (Base Line)**: short-term and mid-term trend indicators.
* **Senkou Span A & B**: Together they form the *“cloud”* (Kumo), projecting support/resistance zones into the future.
* **Chikou Span (Lagging Line)**: plots the current closing price shifted backward for context.

When price is above the cloud, the market is generally considered to be in an **uptrend**; below the cloud suggests a **downtrend**. The cloud’s thickness indicates volatility and strength of support/resistance zones.

Ichimoku is widely used for its ability to show multiple market dynamics in a single glance.
